こういう質問本当に日本人っぽい！笑
なわけないですよー
①海外でまず歳を普通聞かない。初対面なんかで聞いたら失礼
②履歴書に生年月日を書くことはない
③年齢を重ねている人の方が中身があり興味を持ってくれる
のです。
それに英語は言語です。才能は関係ない。
多少の時間がかかるかからないはあっても、必ずきちんと学べば
できるようになる。
むしろ若くても学ばなければ対して英語話せるようにならない人もいます。
私が語学学校に通っていたとき、フランス人の新入生が入ってきました。
担任の先生が一人ずつ順番に質問をしていきましょうと。
で最初の子が名前を聞きました。
で２番目の子が韓国人の男の子だったのですが「How old are you?]と聞いちゃったのです。
そのフランス人と担任の先生は顔を真赤にして怒りまくり。
なんで初対面のあなたに年齢言わないといけないの？と。
実際彼女は２２歳だったのですが、それでも激怒。
韓国人の生徒さんは
「韓国では歳は大事なんです。それにより対応を変えないといけないから」とでも
「それは韓国での話。海外ではそれは通用しないし関係ない。年齢きいてどうするの？」と言われてました。
これまでオーストラリアに住んでて年齢聞くのって日本人と韓国人ばかり。
確かにこの２つの国の言葉って敬語がありますよね。
なので相手により使い分ける必要がるというのはあるかもしれません。
でも英語には敬語はないんです。
そして、日本人というのは、共通点を見つけてほっとし、仲間になろうとする傾向にあるそうです。
欧米人は違う。
相手の違いに興味を持ち仲良くなりたいと思う。リスペクトがあるそうです。
年齢を気にするよりも他に磨き上げる必要がある。
年齢を重ねてその年齢に比例した経験や知識があなたに魅力を感じさせるようになるのです。
オーストラリアには７０歳になっても８０歳になっても留学してる人はたくさんいる
大学などにいけばいろいろな国からきた年代が違う人がたくさん学んでいます。
◯歳だから大学へ行くとかこれを学ぶのではなく学びたいと思った年齢が◯歳だった。
そういう考えなんです。スタンダードが好きな日本人にとってはびっくりかもですが、スタンダードは無いからリミットがないのがオーストラリア。
